Just a couple of pics from a shoot we did back in June. "Trashing Revolt" is kinda our punk jam on our debut album, and though we don't go full on liberty spikes and all that, we still got some attitude.
This look and shoot was inspired by our song "Wheels of the Warrior."
A "lookbook" and image video will be up soon!
On June 26th we published the instrumental track from our upcoming album. "Fallgate To Hell" was originally on Grimskull's demo back in 2009, but we decided to use it in Night League instead of re-recording it for a future Grimskull release.
It's arranged by TJ, and the title came to us when travelling by ferry some ten years ago. The fallgate made such an hellish noise when descending, the idea was just there for the taking.
We also found the perfect art work for the song, so publishing this instrumental song as a pre-taste for the upcoming release felt right when it all came together.
Have another BTS video from our 70s shoot! And some more photos as well. We're really happy with how they turned out as they match our 70s vibe just perfect!
Howls and prowls,
On May 30th we did a rather California Jam/Woodstock inspired photoshoot. Come summer, the 70s vibe is heavily upon us, and it's much about that free spirited bohemian style that takes us right back to the groovy rock of Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.
Here's a short BTS video on location, and the first pic from the shoot.
Howls and prowls,
We dropped everything and went full on Crüe mode when we saw the #coverthecrue post on March 28th, and recorded our version of "Live Wire" in two days.
We've been Crüe heads since forever, and the band is one of our main influences when writing and making music. To finally cover a song was about time, and Mötley's contest was just the kickstart we needed!
Check out the music video below, and find the song on Spotify, iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and other music streaming platforms!
On Thursday we shot our first music video for Night League. We had a lot of fun keeping it old school and simple with full focus on a NWOBHM look and sound.
This video is what we're all about. Not a lot of fancy stuff and effects, just the grit, the raw and the heavy.
We hope'll you enjoy it, and will share it if you do!
Howls and prowls,
Night League came to be on Friday 13th of March 2020.
After being together in heavy metal band "Grimskull" since 2009, and 80s project "Marita" since 2015, TJ and Marita decided to form a gritty NWOBHM duo.
A duo project has always been on their minds, and several ideas for sound and style, band names and songs have passed between them for many years, but nothing felt like the right move, keeping the final step at bay.
But on Friday 13th of March, a very fitting day for two old school horror lovers, Night League was born from the screams and slashes from nightmare made Jason, or something like that.
TJ is the main music machine in this duo, and Marita is the text tornado. Together they bring licks and lyrics to a new level, mixing both their vocals and love for cult metal.
"I'm really excited about this band! When something feels right, you just got to go for it! A vibe can blow over all too soon, so you just got to act on your current inspiration when it strikes. And this vibe struck hard, so we're just gonna focus on this project till our debut album sees the light of day," Marita says.
"It's been a dream of mine for a very long time to go back to the gritty roots of old school metal and do something like this. We often dabble with ideas to do cover songs and such, but the urge to do something original is always stronger, so here we are," TJ states.
